The Art of Personal Development

Do you know what personal development is – it’s you growing and experiencing. It’s you shaping and improving your knowledge, your skills, and knowing what interests YOU!

Personal development is a life-long process to help you make positive, relevant, and effective life decisions to enable your own personal development.

Now just what are the tipping points to help you get started and take action? What do you feel most passionate about?

Whatever it is, put all of your energy toward accomplishing that and finding the good in what you are doing. You will find inner-peace, and that will lead you toward what really matters in life.

  • First off, educated yourself. Read more books on self-improvement or invest in CDs on how to improve your personal development. Even YouTube has videos by individuals who offer great insight, all of which can peak your decision-making processes to help change your life.
  • Second, take care of yourself. Exercise more, get plenty of sleep, and change your dietary lifestyle by eating healthier. You will receive more energy and improve your appearance. When you feel better, you perform better because your mind has the mental clarity you need.

Think outside of your comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to make bold decisions. Try new things that challenge you in a scary way. When you take risks, it makes you feel alive. Trying a different pathway to personal development, will spur new creative ideas for self-fulfillment. Sometimes making an error in decision, teaches you in what direction you can eliminate, so that you don’t make the same mistake in the future. Once you do make the right choices, you can’t help but to only strengthen your personal development.

Learn how to listen to others and to yourself. Experienced individuals can enhance your personal development, if you take the time to listen. As a human cell, you are a part of this universe that is ever growing and expanding in thought, action, and spirituality. Listen to your own thoughts and ideas, research it, then open yourself up to its challenges. For better personal development – simply listen!

Involve a close family member or friend to keep you encouraged and on the right track to fulfilling your personal development goals. They can be a sounding board and offer helpful tips on your personal character. Talking to others is a great developmental outlet.

Speaking of involving others, seek out the experience that professionals have, such as a religious figure, a therapist, or a figure head in the area of your interests. Individuals with experience and unique qualifications, will know what to do in a situation that you may encounter. They are eager to listen and to give you an analysis that can enlighten your personal development pathway.

Don’t be a braggart about your goals and achievements. Let others see who you are, and they will brag for you. Remaining humble will bring you more respect and lead you to a better place of development, allowing you to see people in a humane way in how to treat others. You become a spiritual part within the world around you.

You are a dual entity – you are here and now, but with increased personal development, you will be in a different place in life. You need to close this gap and acknowledge that you are your only hold up to that next, vital step in your life.

There are 3 key personal development assets that will help you in this journey:

(1.) ask yourself, what is it that you want to achieve;

(2.) plan your action goals;

(3.) now evaluate your development progress.

Write down all your goals and take steps toward achieving them. Along the way, stop and make an assessment of where you are and what it will take to see the best end. Will it require laughter along the way, no it might take some tears, but do not give up!

Make a positive list of your characteristics and traits. Keep this list with you. Whenever you feel sad or have a negative thought, pull it out and read it to yourself for encouragement and confidence.

You can do it! You can be your own best in your personal development, no matter what it takes!
